Some moments can just be perfect. Just as the last light shined on a birch trunk, which served as a home for a Ural owl family, the young nestling decided to take shy peek of the outside world through its mother’s feathers. It had done it before, but this was the first time for it to see this kind of light. I know, because I spent every evening of this young Ural owl’s nesting life with its family until it disappeared with its parents to take a wider look at the world.
