LILY COLE is preparing to put her Cambridge History of Art degree to good use as she hosts a six-part television series on contemporary art. The show - set to feature on Sky Arts and called Lily Cole's Art Matters - will see the Vogue cover girl interview some of her favourite artists.

"We are delighted to welcome Lily Cole to Sky Arts with this new and innovative programme," James Hunt, director of Sky Arts, told the Telegraph. "We are confident that this series will offer our customers what we believe is a very different and unique opportunity to get up close and personal to some of the most intriguing, controversial and ground-breaking contemporary artists."

Known for her acting roles as well as her modelling and eco campaigning, Cole has not yet dabbled in presenting. The show will see her delve into the inspiration behind some of her favourite artists' most famous works, meeting Dame Paula Rego, Tacita Dean, Bulgarian environmental artist Christo and South American installation artist Gabriel Orozco along the way.
