Oh wow. What a blast from the past. I actually bought a physical copy of RF Online when it first launched. It was incredibly disappointing. Just a worse version of Lineage 2. This looks pretty but can't really tell what the gameplay is going to be like from that footage.

Decided to do a bit of Old/New comparison. Im really excited about this now, even if it ends up being shit! :D
Catapult MAU - Looks like theyve kinda been amalgamated and upgraded (Singular shoulder cannon)
This thing looks a bit like a warbeast or splinter
An Accretian (Perhaps based the Hero, Lotan 3rd? That said All Accretians take this kind of design)

Quite possibly a Belato, based on the armour (Chunky) and the fact that he later jumps into a MAU. Looks like they won't be looking like Kids this time around
I'm actually really excited about this, its probably just nostalgia but I really hope they do something good with the IP! I like what I've seen so far, it looks quite inspired by the old game with a modern take, can't wait to see more

As someone who played RF for years back then, I'm quite excited. My biggest concern is the cross-platform thing which will affect the RvR War design one way or another. I also wish this will be more pvp-oritented like the original, like how you can go anywhere and invade like WoW.

I was Bellato Union (don't remember server), I loved (and still love) the idea of an MMO where you get to use a mech. I'm really happy that they've not only decided to bring that back, but it looks like they took the idea for Anthem's flight mode here, which would be WAY better used in an MMO imo.
I was also Bellato, Played on the Spirit server (and then Novus after the merge) in the N.I.N.J.A guild . So much nostalgia :)

Thankfully Netmarble looks to be going more of an Action RPG MMO route (Think more TERA) with this reboot.

The thing is, the setting and the tri faction deal was so unique at the time, and sci-fi MMOs are really hard to come by now.
In every way this reboot feels like it will deliver what the original trailers did for the original MMO, and I'm so fucking here for it
Mobile being one of the platforms makes me very skeptical about the game as that likely means there'll be automatic elements, heavy monetization or that the PC will be a port afterthought. Will keep an eye out for more news and see what it turns into at least. Cool trailer

I think I was playing Mercenary Accretia way back then, the one that could block magic/elemental damage and normal attacks. That thing couldn't die lmao.
Didn't play RF Online more than 10 hours, but the "One" song stuck to me all those years and has a constant presence in my overall playlist

"One" in RF Online must be the most bizarre and out of place OST in all of gaming, especially when paired with that trailer/CG movie.
What made it super weird for me is because it was originally used as an OST of a Japanese-Korean romance drama, Friends (2002). The song made way more sense in that context.

It's up there with Into Free from Dragon's Dogma lol, but I love it.
Probably just a favorite song of one of the big shots at the corporation.
I mean it isn't a bad song, and I have it in my playlist, but it really would make more sense in Final Fantasy 8 or so. Don't even remember if RF Online had a love story theme or something.
Oh man what a blast from the past. I didn't play RFO but I remember it amongst the swarm of F2P KMMOs that flooded the market back in the 00s. They were all massive grindfests but there was some fun to be had that still gives me a slight nostalgia tug.

I remember reading about RF Online and the nature of the factions, it sounded so cool and unique
But yeah the game was a Korean MMO grindfest at the time.
Hopefully Netmarble looks to be doing something more action-based, so I'm hoping it's better than the original!
Not just grindy, but horrifically unbalanced too.
Some classes were just straight up useless (I.e Any ranger based class), force users could do tier3 attacks chained leading to insane dps, Accretians could get rid of all debuffs with a spammable item... the list goes on haha!

There's some Cora in there (check the Elf looking lady underneath the ship) and the thing behind the Bellato might be a summon (Cora and Bellato working together to face down an unknown enemy)
