| Description | If you have trouble with blueberries, this could be the plant for you. This easy-to-grow berry tolerates poor soil, is not bothered by pests or diseases, and even tolerates urban pollution. Mid-June fleshy berries are sweet and tart with a blueberry-like flavor; wonderful fresh or dried. Yields 5 to 10 lbs. of fruit. Requires cross-pollination by varieties with a similar bloom time, such as Polar Jewel or Aurora. Deciduous. |

| Care | Best in rich, evenly moist soil, but can tolerate heavy clay. Provide some protect from sun in hot climates. Needs a period of below-freezing temperatures to induce dormancy. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring. Remove dead leaves as they appear, and keep the soil free from any rotted fruit. There is no need to prune for the first 5 or 6 years. Once mature, cut out old wood that no longer produces fruit in fall. Requires cross-pollination by varieties with a similar bloom time, such as Polar Jewel or Aurora |
