Description If you have trouble with blueberries, this could be the plant for you. This easy-to-grow berry tolerates poor soil, is not bothered by pests or diseases, and even tolerates urban pollution. Mid-June fleshy berries are sweet and tart with a blueberry-like flavor; wonderful fresh or dried. Yields 5 to 10 lbs. of fruit. Requires cross-pollination by varieties with a similar bloom time, such as Polar Jewel or Aurora. Deciduous.

CARE
Care Best in rich, evenly moist soil, but can tolerate heavy clay. Provide some protect from sun in hot climates. Needs a period of below-freezing temperatures to induce dormancy. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring. Remove dead leaves as they appear, and keep the soil free from any rotted fruit. There is no need to prune for the first 5 or 6 years. Once mature, cut out old wood that no longer produces fruit in fall. Requires cross-pollination by varieties with a similar bloom time, such as Polar Jewel or Aurora
