Hot rod and classic car summit Goodguys returns to Ohio Expo Center this weekend

Wondering what's with all the classic cars and hot rods in Columbus? It may be due to one of the biggest car shows of the year coming to the city.

The Goodguys 25th Summit Racing Nationals, presented by PPG, is coming to Columbus this weekend. This year's event marks the 40th anniversary season for the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.

Over 6,000 vintage cars and trucks will be on display, including hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and classics from across the country during the three-day event, which also offers 300-plus vendor exhibits, timed racing, a model car show and more.

If you're a fan of classic cars, this is a great opportunity to see some of the best hot rods and custom cars in the country. Here's more on the annual event:

When is the Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals?

The event is this weekend, July 7-9. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Where will the event be held?

The Ohio Expo Center, 717 E. 17th Ave. in Columbus.

What activities will take place at the Goodguys summit?

The event includes vendor exhibits featuring retail hard part dealers, timed racing, a used automotive swap meet, Cars 4 Sale Corral, a model car show, autocross, drag racing, burnout competitions, live entertainment, a kids' zone and more. The PPG Street Machine of the Year and the Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year Top 12 will also be announced on Saturday.

How much does the event cost?

Tickets can be purchased online for $25 (ages 13 and older) and $10 (ages 7-12). Children 6 and younger are admitted for free. Parking is $7.

Non-Goodguys members can also register their vehicles for the event online, starting at $45 or $80 for the entire weekend.
