Susan Sarandon always gets mistaken for Sigourney Weaver

Susan Sarandon has revealed there’s another famous actress she says she’s frequently mistaken for — although we can’t quite see it ourselves.

The 69-year-old Hollywood veteran was at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London yesterday when she announced that she’s frequently mistake for Sigourney Weaver — and vice versa.

“I wanna just clarify a few things. Sigourney may have left the stage but we are two different people. I have taken credit for ‘Alien’ many times and she’s signed autographs for me,” she said.

Weaver, 66, had just taken the stage to collect a gong, while Sarandon was at the event to accept an Inspiration Award.

The pair are both respected Hollywood veterans with a wealth of memorable roles under their respective belts — but who exactly is getting them mixed up?

This isn’t the first time Sarandon has insisted she and Sigourney look alike: In 2014, she penned a hilarious opinion piece in which she jokingly declared that Weaver was actually her “bad-ass alter-ego.”

“Quite honestly, I’m surprised no one ever figured this out before. How could you not notice how Sigourney and I have never starred in the same movie or attended the same award show at the same time? Come on, Sigourney isn’t even a real name. That was just how I mispronounced ‘Sidney’ after a couple too many chardonnays,” she wrote.

During her acceptance speech at the Glamour Awards, Sarandon also took time to encourage her fellow female actors to focus on their strengths.

“I am inspired by women,” she said. “Nobody multi-tasks like women. We have to stop worrying about being perfect and do the best we can and have fun.”
