Description
Ode to the Butterfly Shawl is a surprisingly easy lace shawl knitting pattern that is written for fingering weight yarn.
This triangle shawl pattern is knit from the top down. The original stitch pattern is suitable for advanced beginners and has no lace knitting on the wrong side.
NOTE: THIS PATTERN HAS CHARTED INSTRUCTIONS ONLY. ALL ARE REFORMATTED IN EASY TO READ SIZES.
Materials Needed:
- Knitting Notions Classic Merino Bamboo yarn or
- Knitting Notions Classic Merino Superwash Sock yarn: (2) 100g skeins
Finished Dimensions: 80″ across top edge and 34″ down the center back
Yarn Requirements: 810-900 yards
Gauge: 16 stitches = 4” in pattern stitch, washed and lightly blocked (gauge is not crucial but the fabric should have a nice drape)
Needles: 24″ or 32″ size 5-7 US circular or size needed to achieve gauge
